The scientific literature highlights a growing link between the gut microbiota and skin health. A recent review by Borrego-Ruiz et al. (Nutrients, 2024) shows how a diet rich in fiber, polyphenols, and unsaturated fatty acids can positively modulate the microbiota and systemic inflammation, thereby improving common dermatological conditions such as acne vulgaris, alopecia areata, and atopic dermatitis.
In addition, innovative approaches involving probiotics, postbiotics, and fecal transplants are emerging as promising therapeutic strategies, with potential clinical applications for physicians and nutritionists.
🔗 Nutritional personalization and microbiota modulation now represent a concrete path toward precision medicine, even in dermatology.
